ludvig82
Now i have started on my first slim XboX. It is an 1.1 xbox i bought a while a go, it has a Xcuter2 Lite chip it, so my first working chipped xbox. Thought this was i good candidate for an slim, since i can run it without the DVD PCB. I rigged the "dremel" and got ready to cut (after reading a couple of guides) But the switch broke when I tried to start it..... Had to fix it: Found the bigger toy for cutting the shield Test fitting while cutting: I mounted a 60mm fan to the shield. And test fitted it in the bottom And finally fitted the newly cut down dvd caddy with HDD (not the one i am using yet). Need to get a molex extender, since it wont reach as it is. I am pretty happy with my first slim xbox. It is not finished yet, i am thinking of tinting the lid. Not decided what style jewel to go for yet, or if I should mount the shield again or not. Maybe leave as is, or black out the interior. Maybe even som led mods? But it seems like the hardes part of the mod went pretty well, I'll let you decide. I also have to make or source some bolts to use, and not decided if tinting it black, red or red with black on top...... KaosEngineer
The MD5 hash for this 256KB BIOS of 0x535c802faccd1ce56f52216bc649f92f is for the X2 4981.06 BIOS from the Hexen installer disc. Found it listed in the HeXEn 2018 iso's HeXEn Tools/BIOS IDs/BiosIds.ini file. Not sure what mods have been made in XBTool since this MD5 hash does not match an unmodified X2 4981.06 BIOS which is equal to 0xca25c9b3721da8c96c4770515dbcda07 Edited December 30, 2018 by KaosEngineer

Is theee something I should do, or is the bios OK? Sent fra min NX551J via Tapatalk
KaosEngineer
If you plan on upgrading the HDD, I'd reflash the modchip with a different BIOS. X2 4981.06 is one of the latest Xecuter X2 BIOSes but not the latest available - X2 4983.{06 or 67} (size: 256KB) or X2 5035 (size: 512KB). LBA48 configurations .06 for partition 6 only or 67 for both partition 6 and 7. However, for most HDDs especially a 2TB HDD, you'll be using an HDD partition table stored to the HDD with XBPartitioner v1.3. I would use from the Hexen 2018 installer disc, either M8plus F & G, X2 5035 or iND-BiOS Beta Feb-11-05 (aka 5004.67) (size: 256KB). If using X2 5035, it has a configuration file that should be uploaded to the root of the F or E drive - x2config.ini. The iND-BiOS has a configuration file - ind-bios.cfg - that should be uploaded to the root of the Xbox's C drive. I have a lot of nos disc, so I guess it will be a 250gb. I killed my only 500gb. Sent fra min SM-G930F via Tapatalk

ludvig82
You sliced half inch only but anyway nice work.Yeah I did not go crazy slim. Enough to no need to mod with another psu and smaller disc. I may look into that later maybe, and I may be able to cut more and still fit all I have now. I have several spare cases, so I may try another slim, and try get it as slim can with everything inside. I guess I need to mod the power button pcb to do that? 306XBOX
Nice. Is that just red spray tint like Nite Shades or something?
ludvig82
Don't know what nite shades is, but the stuff I use is automotive tint spray. Made for tinting lights mainly. Sent fra min SM-G930F via Tapatalk

ludvig82
Done painting [emoji4] Changed the thermal paste and cloning to a bigger drive now. I use to name all my Xboxes, but this one miss a name. Any suggestions? Sent fra min SM-G930F via Tapatalk
ludvig82
I think this box is close to done now. Cleared the jewel using this stuff. Took me about 20 minutes [emoji33] Then I tinted it black. The mods: -Xecuter2lite chip -Silent 60mm fan -New thermal paste -Removed clock cap (it's a 1.1) -400gb IDE hdd (NOS) -Original bottom, crystal top -Slimmed down -40pin 80 strand IDE cable -Tinted red and black -Cleared and tinted jewel -Extended the power cable for the hdd, soldered. Still need to source some screws that will fit to secure the top. Since this is going to be my daily driver in the living room, I don't think I will do light mods on it. I may do a controller port led mod, but not sure yet. Now to fill it with games and other software [emoji4] Sent fra min SM-G930F via Tapatalk
306XBOX
Not bad at all! I wouldn't have gone with the dark tint and red combo personally but you pulled it off quite nicely. Curious why you installed the top RF shield hiding all the cool insides.

I have a ghostcase one without the shielding, and that one I had to clean up alot before I liked it. 306XBOX
I agree it COULD look clean but that shield is asymmetrical with the hole placement. Sets my OCD on FIRE
