lapa988
this is amazing. Full X3 and XCM collection. Quote 5 Xtreme Extender Huh? what is the story of that? assuming it's self made as i've never heard of it?
N163LPH03N1X
It's not self made, I had a debate on the Facebook page on it and had people try to hunt down the origin of it and came up with nothing. I reckon it's a long out of production 3rd party tech for the xbox that vanished. I'm the only person with one in the community. The guy I bought it from had no info on it either unfortunately. XCM made their own X-tender that increases the hard drive capacity to 3, This unfamiliar xtention by 5 Xtreme increases the capacity to 5 drives. Matta
Thanks and also I was wondering, I have an original xbox jewl I was planning on modifying (I removed paint and everything, not letters) and how would I go about chaning those letters to XMC. I am interested because I saw one being sold before and it looked really good with white and black. N163LPH03N1X
I don't think you can change the lettering of an official jewel. Usually some people create their own jewels and can etch what ever they want. or usually stick an image on the back of the plastic for an effect. I have an extra official XCM Crystal jewel sitting here in my extras as well

XCM are a manufacturer of replacement aftermarket cases for consoles so an XCM console is merely one with an aftermarket xcm case like mine below

lapa988
Did you ever find anything about that Xtreme 5 HDD selector? I think it's super interesting. It's funny how the full Xbox set is under 3TB but that thing now has max capacity of 10TB

As for information goes about it. I'm in the dark still.
Flintstrike
Sorry for the bump. Found this thread while looking into the PulseVU adaptation for an Original Xbox. Any more information on how they are installed? I see three or so have them in it.

Found this thread while looking into the PulseVU adaptation for an Original Xbox. Any more information on how they are installed? I see three or so have them in it. I have a bunch of chips on hand (new and used), they're super easy to install it's literally the same as the Xerc CME and Xerc 2 XE. I should have done a tutorial for PulseVU 2X and Xerc 2 XE. The reason for this is because Sickmods *the original developers* had a web site a while ago and it eventually got shut down entirely. All the the instructions were lost, but I've since lost interest in modding Xbox's for a while now so I'm never on here. I can do a quick break down for what to connect to what: AL & AR (audio left & right - Connects to the points underneath the AV connector -----> Xerc CME PB4 (AR) Point in the image below, AL is beside AR in the next left row *the point that's upper left of AR (not above it) PO (detects if device is powered on.) You can refer to the chart below where PO is based on Xbox Revision. SW (Switch connection - Button that switches through pulse modes) you can connect this to the Eject Button (DB in image below) if you want *by default* or set it up with your own custom switch. L1 & L2 (Xbox 360 only) VU (This controls the LEDs, which is the grounding point for your LEDs) You power your LEDs through a 5V source on the mother board then ground it to the VU point on the Pulse VU chip. + (power point for the Pulse VU Chip) This is the main Power connection you would normally connect to PWR on the Xbox Mother board. - (Ground point for the Pulse VU Chip) This is the main Grounding point you would normally connect to GND on the Xbox Mother board. Quote NOTE: Keep in mind that Xbox revision 1.6 has the best compatibility with Pulse VU *simply because 1.6 Motherboards can power all the LEDs even when the Xbox is off* otherwise any revision 1.0-1.4 simply does not power, fade breathe etc more than 2 leds at a time. I would recommend this project for a moderate skill set with soldering, you need some knowledge to know how to setup LEDs in a string or parallel. String - powering all LEDs on one line and having one correct OHM resistor. Parallel - having all LEDs on a separate line with their own correct OHM resistor. I also have LED boards for this sort of thing for Xbox front face plate LEDs. 5V forward power is too much for a single LED, some LEDs can only take a max range from 2V - 4V forward voltage depending on what color you use. Anything over will burn the LED(s) out. Refer to this chart if unsure. https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/389726/whats-the-difference-between-typical-and-maximum-forward-voltage-for-an-led
