Hi,

What's the best softmod to use in 2018,

I have Need for Speed Carbon and Swat Global Strike Team.  I am also able to solder, so setting up a usb port is a possibility.

Just want to use the most flexible method, most reliable.

Thanks for your infos.

M.

Please login or register to see this link.  is the best. Any other softmod installer is old as shit, does not have a streamlined installation process and is not as stable.

Softmod with Rocky's, then use the included NKPatcher Settings application to null your HDD key. This makes it a lot easier to recover from HDD failure in the future.

Since you can also solder, I highly advise hardmodding instead of softmodding. You can upgrade to a TSOP flash after a softmod. Or install a modchip right from the get go.

What video region? NTSC or PAL

You need an original copy of one of the following games to softmod that has a game save for your region:

  • Splinter Cell - NTSC or PAL
  • 007: Agent Under Fire - NTSC
  • MechAssault - NTSC
  • Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 - NTSC, PAL and region free

Any version of Splinter Cell will work - original release, Platinum Hits (NTSC), or Classics (PAL).

007: AUF: NTSC saves only and either the original or the working unpatched two platinum hits release.

MechAssault - NTSC only works with original release.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 - ??? never used it so not exactly sure if any version will work or if later releases were patched.

      Hi,
I'm new here and have had both of my original xboxs modded when they came out years ago.  I finally dusted them off and to my surprised they're still working great...well one of them at least.  I'm hoping I can pick up some tips on what I can do to get the other up and running well again.

Dusting off my old xbox. Thinking about dumping avalaunch and using XBMC4gamers instead. Is it worth it?
