XEcutor Modded Box With Avalaunch Crashing When Accessing Internet

Recommended Posts

I wonder if anyone can help me with this. It seems the Xbox is crashing when accessing www.crusaders.no (which no longer exists). I've managed to turn off RSS feeds but it makes no difference. It's a real pain as I can't ftp into the xbox because it crashes before I can establish a connection. It works fine when ethernet is disconnected.

Thanks  for any help.

Cheers. Will do. I managed to get around it by using UnleashX, which I installed by burning it to a DVD, moving it across to C:/ and changing the boot order in the bios screen. At least that then allowed me to telnet in to the Xbox, which I couldn't do before. It's been an interesting few days as it's over ten years ago that I last spent any time modding the OG Xbox. Forgot how much fun it is.

it presents a unique set of challenges just off the beaten path. its alot of fun isnt it. its that razors edge between dinner conversation and full blown obscurity.

Oh yeah, I'm having a blast. Mind you when I'm involved I think the conversation definitely veers towards full blown obscurity. Well, at dinner anyway. I usually just get funny looks 🤔

A fellow Xbox fan requested that I put an X3 modchip in his Dev Box so he can use all 128M of RAM, although we had a conversation about the limited library.  He wants the modchip  instead of a simple TSOP.  I have the mainboard and drive working.  It boots to the MS clock/calendar initially.  After setting the time I am able to see 3 standard menu options: Memory, Music and Settings.  Clearly it has not been updated to include Live.  The only game save is Revolt (Microsoft ATG).
It will not play a game but gives this message: "You need to connect the DVD Playback Kit receiver to a controller port to watch movies.  Remove the disc to continue."  I have a brand new DVD Playback Kit so I put it in.  No luck.  Tried a movie DVD.  Still the same message.
I pulled the EEPROM using PonyProg.  It looks okay although it will not load into LiveInfo.  ConfigMagic also rejects it.  I have looked through the raw edit of the EEPROM but am not sure what to look for.  This one seems like it is above my pay grade!  I am hoping for another perspective on it.  I must be missing something here but don't know what it is.
      Any help?
      Thanks.

I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in repair, but since it happened during a TSOP mod I though I'd try here first. Picked up a 1.4 version at a Salvation Army today, green model worked great but filthy inside. Cleaned it up, removed clock capacitor and did the two TSOP points. Reassembled and before I even load into Hexen my video signal has lines going across the screen. After messing around I find that the problem is only with component output (hd output) and standard def av works fine. Thing is, component worked fine before I disassembled so I'm convinced the problem must have been caused by something I did - but all I did was pull the clock cap and do the 2 tsop points... Tried another component cable.. same result. Tried another tv, got a glitched looking display or 'mode not supported'. I'm convinced it's now outputting some garbled attempt at an hd signal that neither of my tvs can process correctly. Have 2 other xboxes and both display hd perfect with the same cables and tvs. I guess I can just sell it with some standard cables but losing the hd kinda kills the awesomeness so I'd really like to fix this if possible. This is like the second weird obscure xbox mystery for me in like a week, sheesh:)
