  1. I've just tried to install the chip using this guide: https://consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox:Aladdin More precisely I soldered the pin header and the 3.3V, LAD0, LAD1, LAD2 and LAD3. I made a blunder and ruined the trace by R7P4, so needed to reroute it. I would have routed through the hole at the chip pin, but the hole had solder in it that I haven't been able to remove, so I resorted to the hideous mess you can see on the picture. I have checked all the connections with a multimeter. There is 3.3 on pin9. LAD1-3) I have checked as much as I could by putting one of the multimeter probes on the tip of the pin and the other on a point on the trace that is not the solder point directly. In other words, I am reasonably sure that the soldering is "ok" I also cut the L trace because the MrMario2011 video said so. But when I booted only a black screen would show and FRAG. So I restored the L trace to be able to boot into stock BIOS. Now I can only boot into stock. Am I missing something? Have I done something wrong? What can I check? The chip lights red whenever power is plugged into the xbox. I noticed that if I put the chip in with the BT not soldered on the chip the led would dim slightly whenever the xbox was turned on. After I soldering it, it would not dim. Don't know if it means anything. Just mentioning it.
  2. Hi folks, Thought I'd share a pic of a nice Newhaven Display OLED which works nicely with the OpenXenium for me. I just used the Arduino Pro Micro but not on the spi2par2019 board, since it's oled (no backlight etc), plus it's no use anyway since oled has a 20 pin varied connector that doesn't match obviously. You need to be careful setting the pins up. It's using the same hd44780 parallel 6800 4-bit interface (not i2c) - I just set the oled using jumpers soldered on the back as per pdf. I added the initialisation code into the .ino and changed some of the hd44780 commands up as well. You also have to edit the liquidcrystal library too - bit of a faff, I'm no coder but managed in the end after a week. You can get it on Mouser etc, different colours. Ugh it's £22.80 plus the vat though Rough first youtube vid on ipad - turn up volume.
  3. 4. Hi there, Just upgraded my xbox HDD with a MakeMHZ XboxHD+ from a 320GB old IDE HDD with a 2TB SATA HDD (using a StarTech with partition F: 1TB and G: 900mb) and it is working fine. I created the new disk using the OGXBox Installer 2021 - v1.5.5 For FatXplorer + XBoxHDM (24 12 2022) with fatxplorer and it worked! My problem is the XBOXHD+ software, it is placed on the root of C but when started i get the error msg: "XBOXHD+ Error: The Xbox app must be installed in c:\xboxhd" and the xbox reboots. The software is placed there like told so why is it saying it isnt? Anybody a suggestion where to look? I installed a new version from MakeMHz but still this error and im lost now so any help is welcome Thank you!
  5. Forgot to post this here, i finally installed this thing last month. I’m very proud of this i’ve never really tackled anything this difficult. Best part is, it worked on the first try. I posted about this awhile back looking for advice, but i decided to jump right in and do it after being afraid to for so long. But wow this mod blew me away. Too bad i didn’t install this in my main xbox (Don’t worry about the long cables, i shortened them to the appropriate length after testing)
  6. still having this issue i get freezing/buzzing at the flubber logo with my hdd installed with everything correctly in place using the FatXplorer 3.0 beta to build/preload the drive and I have EVo bios installed too so hdd locking shouldn't be an issue i get a 07 (hdd time out) with no hdd installed (pretty obvious)
  7. Hello everyone I got a Softmodded V1.0 Evox with a 500hd, i´ve about 200 titles that work, but recently i´ve installed some via Flashfxp5 but they didn´t launch from the dash menu, it shows loading but it goes back to Evox menu, and doesn´t start from a game disc(does the same thing). The orange light is always on on the tray button. What i tried already: Cleaning cache from E: and X: Y: and Z: (nothing) Patched xbe of some games via c-box tool (nothing) Still, nothing, games won´t start anyway, what i´m missing here? Thank you very much
  8. Some time back I bought a board with the 1.4 interposer mod already installed but unfortunately didn’t have time to mess with it until now. Checked his GitHub and saw references that say XBMC will always report 1.4 regardless of the switch setting. Is there a way I can confirm if the switch is actually switching between 733 and 1.4? I tried several retail games from disc without patching which I understand should have issues but both worked with the switch on or off. I also verified the blue led on the interposer stays on regardless of switch setting. thanks in advance
  9. Hi all. I just finished installing an OpenXenium modchip in my 1.1v Xbox. It boots into XeniumOS fine but I am unable to launch into any bios. I added the retail kernal to TSOP and it returns an error 16. This is using the original HDD and 40pin cable. I also bought a new HDD, IDE to SATA adapter and 80pin cable. Unfortunately I get error 11 with this setup. I've tried using the new 80pin cable with the original HDD and it still gives an error 16. I have also tried pulling the modchip out and having everything stock (Original HDD, 40pin cable) but it still gives me error 16. I'm not sure what else to do. Any advice would be really appreciated.
  10. My V1.1 Xbox is triple fragging, this happened after I tried swapping out the 40 Pin IDE cable for a 80Pin one. I've done a bit of debugging and found that the LPC header pins 3 and 5 aren't reporting correct voltages both reading below 1v What I think has happened is when I installed the 80 Pin IDE cable I without knowing freed up one of the solder joints on the switch that's on the XeniumICE which switches it into recovery mode(I have resoldered the broken joint and it didn't change anything and yes the switch is in the correct position, though I've tried both positions and still a frag) and somehow that's caused something to get fried but I'm not sure what exactly Uploaded some pictures of my LPC header soldering and D0 point for shits and giggles I have done continuity tests to the alternate points and they're all reading with continuity https://imgur.com/a/rBbAdlR
  11. What ups So glad I found this awesome forum for the OG. I installed an OpenXenium chip and now I don't know what to do. My goal is to swap the original HDD (which is EVOX softmodded) with a spare 1TB I have laying around. I tried adding the retail kernel to the launch menu but it isn't working. On the original HDD the xbox boots to a black screen, on the spare HDD the xbox boots to an error screen. What is my next step?
  12. Hello all, I am new to xbox modding. I am just trying to learn more about the software side of modding this console. I have experience modding just about every other console and am now getting into the original xbox. I've installed an openxenium mod chip, and have ordered a 2TB hdd, ide to sata converter, and 80 wire ribbon cable. I'm just trying to get a feel for what the current methods people are using as a lot of information is outdated. Thanks for reading this.
  13. webwxgetvideo.mp4 It can be boot without hard disk. I can see EVO mark at the left top. And I got the 09 error. If the hard disk was conected. when I reboot the console, The xbox will be frozen at the start-screen. I try to change more cable and hard disk. Still not resolved. Please kindly help me to find this issue root casue.
  14. I have a softmodded xbox and upgraded to a 250GB drive. I used Chimp 261812 - I cloned the C and E drive and selected the option for the F drive to get all unallocated space in the program. Problem is that the F drive only has 123GB ( both C and E have just over 4gb respectively) so I seem to be missing quite a few gigs - any ideas? Thanks
  15. Hi I recently installed and openxenium modchip chip. It is working flawlessly. I want to do two things with the Xbox. Number one I want it to play the library of Xbox games. Number to I want to make it an emulation box. Here are the problems I'm running into. 1) when I try to install Rocky 5 XBMC emu station via FTP it locks up with just a few kilobytes left during the transfer. I have tried to build my own version and use the pre-built version. 2) second thing is I want to replace the dash with a good dash and I'm looking for recommendations. 3) is there any software that will rebuild a hard drive to bone stock? Or a listing of what would reside on the hard drive in a bone stock as new Manor? Thanks in Advance, Rob
  16. hi, i have got my xbit 1.5 to work after 5 days messing with it i have loaded the iND-BiOS.Beta.Feb-11-05.67.bin (256k) and when i start the xbox i see a screen saying ind bios. but then it load to the standart dashboard with no new options. do i need now a hexen dvd and make a softmod to unlock everything? i thought when you dissable the modchip the xbox will start up in stock config, but when i softmod it this will still be active. what should i do next after booting the new bios: make a softmod or get another dashboard? i think it goes only like this: softmod and then the installation of a dashboard. thanks for your advice
  17. Hello guys I have upgraded my ram in the xbox and that works flawlessly first i installed the xblast boot os and tested every chip and success. then i installed ind 5003.67 and it works also correct but he did not see the G drive so i format it but still not seeing that partition. I thought maybe i must install the BFM bios but now i think it was for an xbox 1.6 because he wont boot. the xbox turn on then go of twice and then stay on but no screen. Can i reflash the chip? with a pickkit or something other way. Can i fix this? or do i need a new aladdin xt2 chip. and will they boot on an 128mb board with stock bios. I dont know if the xbox run with a not compatible 128gb ram bios or that it will boot but takes only 64mb. thanks for youre time.
  18. I installed a aladdin xt modchip and when I have the chip out of the system it powers on but when the chip is plugged in the system won't power on. Does anyone know the problem?
  19. Any suggestions as to why this is the case? the path i'm using is on partition F, could that be an issue? Thanks in advance.
