  1. I successfully cloned my 100GB Maxtor to a Seagate 1TB drive using CHIMP. All my data, games, skins, etc were intact on the new drive. Then I went to use CHIMP to extend my partitions on my master drive (the Seagate) so it would recognize all 1TB but much to my chagrin when I rebooted I seemed to lose everything, including my skins, my emulators, and my Xbox games (there were about 100GB worth). The menu shows the categories and a barebones UnleashX skin but nothing inside them. How do I extend my partitions on my cloned drive so I get the full 1TB without losing my current UnleashX setup?
  2. I've seen several UnleashX skins show the game picture/icon next to the name of the game. But they don't show up with any of the games i've put on the hdd. Am I missing something in the game folder itself or a setting I need to modify in UnleashX? Any help would be appreciated.
  3. Works with modding other systems too...
  4. I have a few big games (> 4GB) ripped from Game DVDs on PC by PowerISO. But I don't know how to split or slice them into smaller ISOs. Does anyone happen to know any method and tools that is able to do that, so that I can FTP them to Xbox and play the smaller ISO directly from Xbox? ** (my xbox DVD ROM is too old to read most CD/DVDs nowadays, not even the newly burned HeXEn DVD) Thanks Peter
  5. I have a Xbox (v1..1), Currently it has Modded with Spider Chip with M8+ Bios flashed. (* Its HDD content actually is softmoded, but due to old HDD failing, I cloned the content to the current HDD which is not lockable, thus had to use the spiderchip again) One of disadvantage of modchip is it doesn't support playing game from ISO directly, But nkpatcher seems only for softmod. Therefore, I searched and managed to find out from the post http://www.emuxtras.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=187&t=3228&start=20, about using the amazing console app "cdrom_modchip" to load the ISO file. It works greatly without needing to config or code anything., except having to run/load the patcher every time after the xbox restart. Does anyone have any idea how to load the patcher.xbe automatically when the DASH started. From the post above, it was mentioned about configing the IND_Bios.cfg ( the order of DASH1, DASH2, DASH3 etc). But I don't like ind_bios, as I feel M8 bios is much clean and faster. . Thanks in advance Peter

  8. Psu Dead? How To Test

Hi all, My trusty old XBox has stopped powering up (no lights or drive activity, nothing). I have opened it up to check for leaking caps. It is a 1.0 or 1.1 version, so I checked the clock capacitor which had indeed leaked so I removed it and cleaned the pcb but still no joy. Then I started testing the FoxLink PSU. The socket soldering looks ok and I found that at least the 1st coil has tension, but when measuring the pins on the mobo connector there is nothing (I also measured the Power OK and Power ON pins). I can’t see any visual damage on the PSU. Can I conclude that this PSU is dead or is this normal?
  9. recently got a debug kit I have been trying to look for ways on how to FTP 2 debug kit. The only media this would read that will allow you to FTP is the dashboard Avalanche. These were made on the Old Source codes that's why it can read it. But you really want the Alpha version it's a special version (Alpha v0.49.1) This is the only Dash or program this debug kit will play. Once it boots up go into file manager using the CD to get there. Copy files from DVD drive into the E partition you can make a folder call it apps and place individually everything on the contents of the CD you made... once that is done you can reboot the system open Avalanche go into FTP settings. You want to change your IP address to whatever you have on flashfxp or Windows .. once you are linked you can pull off any programs that you want to make a copy for yourself. Another thing you can do is download an app called retail game loader V 1.20. This app will allow you to play retail games as well as emulators or anything the original Modded Xbox can play. How you use it is once you FTP to hard drive and is complete reset the system then under xdk launcher click on the newly installed app retail disc loader V 1.20... once that is launched it will look like the exact same Dash except now you can load anything you want. I was giving a lot of help from a lot of different sources in order to make this post to this form. Please if you know any other tricks leave a comment below if not this will work for sure I've tried it myself 100%. Thank you very much for reading have a great Frankie d

  12. Here is how to unlock an Xbox hard drive with a program called Hdat2. Software link: https://www.hdat2.com/ Software is in attachment also. It is a Boot able iso. Instructions: I've done a YouTube video showing how to unlock an Xbox hard disk with HDAT2 link here for the program http://www.hdat2.com/This is a WIP, there may be some errors I will try to update the videos and instructions over time 6th April edited YouTube video9th May 2017 v60b4, new YouTube Video and updated instructionsSet up your PC with the Xbox hard disk as Master and the DVD drive as Slave.Set the BIOS to boot from DVD/CD first. When the program loads, be patient it takes a little while Type "HDAT2" at the command prompt.Select the hard disk by using the cursor keys and pressing enter.Scroll down to "Security" press enter.Scroll down to "Unlock device" press enter. Then press "I" to change from User to Master.Pressing "K" will scroll through a list of built in passwords, if you're lucky it'll be one in the list.Xboxes are usually "XBOXSCENE" or "TEAMASSEMBLY" which are near the end of the built in password list.Press "S" to set and then "Y" to confirm.NOTE: You will only get 5 attempts, and then you will have to re-boot, and start again You can also enter a password manually by pressing "P"Passwords can be entered in User mode, but you don't get the "K" option for the built in password list.If you have "zeroed" your hard drive password then 30 HEX is DECIMAL 0.Hopefully the video will show what I mean https://youtu.be/ZnvqxgTJsfoHDAT2 also has other useful hard drive tools to repair bad sectors, erase etc...Have a look at some of the other YouTube videos by other users Video Below: hdat2cd_60b5.iso

  14. How To Test a 1.6 Psu

I've got a 1.6 with good traces that won't power on. If I hold the power button in I can hear the HDD spinning but nothing else happens, no video output, the led's don't light up, nothing.. Before I go about ordering the replacement transistor for the mb, I'd like to test the psu to make sure it's working, and I don't have any other 1.6's around to try it out in. I've been looking around online for 45 mins and can't find anything specific to testing the psu for correct voltage (it's a Delta if that matters, and everything looks flawless on it, no obvious problems.) If anyone can help me out with this, or has another idea of what may be the problem, I'd appreciate it immensely (and yes I have a multimeter handy :P) Cheers, Jim
  15. How to copy game saves to a Microsoft or 3rd party MU the EASY WAY. First you need to buy or build a USB to Xbox adapter like this https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Controller-PC-USB-Adapter-Cable/dp/B000RT2868/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1500843772&sr=8-5&keywords=xbox+to+usb Next you need to download my LIVE CD here Action Replay Win7 32 bit LIVE CD NDURE INCLUDED Burn to a CD-R with imgburn or to USB with Rufus https://rufus.akeo.ie/ I tested this Boot CD-ROM or USB stick in any PC (please test) Once booted you should see the desktop, first open the action replay shortcut then open the action replay folder then open the action replay app If your controller is plugged into the PC and your MU is inserted into the controller you should see a green AR symbol at the top of the window Next open the softmod folder next select the game save folder you are using to softmod, in this example we are using Mech Assault Next drag and drop udata.zip to the memory card pane Now you should see the yellow progress bar start to move above the memory card pane Once you see your save in the left Memory Card window, you are all set! Now insert your MU back into your XBOX and copy the save file over to the hard drive, then continue your softmod by running the save game from inside the game of your choosing. If this walk though helped you, please leave comments below!!!
