  1. Reposted with pics on Imgur: https://imgur.com/gallery/rH19myY I need help flashing this corrupt Bios chip on my Og Xbox. Unfortunately this is the only way i can reflash it, as i attempted to flash it but forgot to bridge the points now my Og Xbox only works with a modchip. I got around to picking up a programmer TL866II Plus with Xgpro v11.90 Flasher tool. But i keep getting a pin detect error. I first tried it with a new exact replacement chip using a TSOP 40 adaptor. Then ended up losing that chip. And desoldered the one from the motherboard. I also removed the cold solder from the adaptors and added some fresh new high quality solder with flux to make sure that isn’t the problem. I socketed it into the slot and no luck “Pin detect error”. I then ordered another adaptor this time without a socket and i soldered on the bios chip. I also redid the solder joints, as the ones on that adaptor were dull aswell, and no luck. I picked up the correct or the closest settings on the Xgpro v11.90 software. I tried TSOP 40 Hyundai and Hynix HY29F080 with no luck. It yet again gives me a “Pin detect error”. I even tried auto detect and it says chip not supported. On the chip it says Hyundai HY29F080T-90, but i can’t find that exact model number on the menu. Could that be the issue or is it something else. I have no idea as this is my first time using a programmer. And saw a video or two on how to use it.
  2. Just thought I would start this thread as a kinda fun thing. Given most of us have modded Xboxes, got me wondering what people are doing thats technically not modding, or using it in a way the thing supposed to be. To this end I bring you The OGXbox door stop This is a limited edition, they only made one in clear as far as I know. Seriously when we have the doors and windows open in the house in the summer the near constant breeze always finds the doors and slams them shut. Doorstops are not great in our house as between pets and children they just disappear. So what better than a heavy old OGXbox to stop the door open. Yes in the UK we have so many Clear boxes we are tripping over them.
  3. Modified XBox done in 2003-2004. I had my XBox modified in 2003-2004 with a new hard drive and fan installed that allowed me to play every game made up to that time from Nintendo,Sega, so on and so on. Trying to get it back up and running but it’s still doing the same thing it started to do back in 2006. I have a separate circuit and toggle switch on the outside that would allow me to play regular Xbox games and then I would turn on the toggle switch to play off the added hard drive. Now all it does is power on and off before just turning the on button red! Anybody remember modifying a Xbox back then?? Thanks for any feedback
  4. Hello everyone, so here I am, a person with nearly no knowledge about the OGXBox Here is a little backstory and what my "plans" are. Four or five years ago I bought off a xBox from eBay with the goal to softmod it and play backups from the harddisk. I already hat a 120 GB HDD laying around. So I messed a bit around and got it pretty easly running and finding out, that the XBox was already somehow modded. Long story short: I swapped out the HDD and played for a couple of months with the OG Xbox until I moved into a new appartment with my wife. At my job I found two 750 GB HDD IDE drives and thought "sweet, lets swap them out". But guess what: I did not saved the tutorials on how to swap the HDD. I remember that I burned a CD to save the HDD key, and lock the new HDD with the same key to get it working. After a little bit of digging I read about the clock capacitor issue. After realising that my XBox is now more then three years in my basement I only thought So now I'm sitting at work and as soon as I'm back home getting my old XBox back and see if damage is there or not Well, because of my missing knowledge on how to swap out harddisks again I wanted to ask for you help! I already found out about chimp and got a Y-Molex Cable in hand. So the swapping should not be that hard. But since I want to bring back new life to my XBox I wanted to learn more about it. And there is now the your help needed: How to I found out what softmod is installed (if a softmod is installed, I never removed the ODD drive and see if there is a chip in it) Should I update the softmod even if everything is working? What if I got a softmod without the clock loop fix and already removed the capacitor, is there still a way to recover the XBox? As you can see, my questions are really beginner like, but it's quite hard to find more informations and I thought it woudl help me a lot if you could help me So thanks in advance for you help!
