  2. Hey everyone I have a quick question. I have an original xbox version 1.1 with unleash X but not tsop flashed yet or a different hard drive. Which blank DVDS work with the Samsung drive that I can buy? I'm trying to burn HeXen on a disk and I was looking at one called the Verbatim CD-RW 700MB 2X-12X. Would that one work?
  3. Hello Everyone

    Glad to be here
  4. XBox Keeps Restarting ?

Hi all I recently picked up an Original Xbox to mod (unsure of version due to it not working). and when I plug the power into the unit it starts up without the press of the power button, It posts on screen with the startup animation but ends abruptly and shuts off just to turn back on 2 seconds later this time with no bootup screen. This cycle continues until the power is disconnected I've tried fiddling with the power button in hopes it was just stuck with no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.
  5. Recently I got Xbox Classic (v1.0), and it has a little cooler on GPU heatsink (like every 1.0), which I would like to remove. Can I just take the fan off, and leave a heatsink without it? Has anyone tried it, and use the console that way? Also, I'll change a thermal paste with MX-4. Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
  6. Chameleon (V1.8) In V1.6 XBox

With help from some others, I was able to get this chip flashed a 1.6 compatible BIOS hotswapping it into a 1.0 xbox and that went well. I thought I completed the physical install of the chip into the Xbox and things went smoothly. I had an old X3 LPC rebuild board that was unused so I soldered in the pin header and used the rebuild board to rebuild the LPC. I then soldered the spot on the rebuild board marked D0 on the modchip to D0 on the rebuild board (soldered to the location on the motherboard). I go to power on the Xbox and it boots immediately if the modchip is placed on the pin header if connected to power but currently off. It boots immediately if modchip is already on the pin header and I plug in power. Both boot to MS Dash with no signs of the chip being powered on or functional. Xbox would work as stock without any issue, I"m assuming. If modchip is removed from pin header and plugged in. I have to hit power button as normal but Xbox boots up as normal. Any idea what could be causing the Xbox to auto-boot when the modchip is in place? I've run out of ideas and documentation/youtube videos/random forum posts that I've found are either gone from the internet, or a slightly different scenario rendering the info useless. I did NOT do anything with the LFrame trace.

  8. Hi guys! I've been in the facebook group for a while now, figured i'd get in the forum too, finally got a crystal today (1,6) after wanting one since i was a teenager and seeing one at one of my friend's place! I'm really happy about it and starting the softmod right now! This is my 3rd xbox, the two others are tsop'd regular black ones, i'd like to start doing some case mods eventually too!
  9. I've got a little over 100 games that i've FTP'd to my xbox. I downloaded and resized covers to use for icons. I can add them manually to about half of them but once I get so far through the list, UnleashX will restart and then when I go back into the games list some of the ones I've added are gone. Is there a better way to do this? Am I doing something wrong? I'm just kinda puzzled that it's working perfectly for about the first 50 games and then I get this issue

  21. Just quick intro: I bought the OG Xbox on Launch day and played it for years before falling out of the gaming world altogether. I recently got back into retro gaming mostly using RPi based systems but stumbled across this site and discovered that my beloved Xbox in the attic could be used for such amazing things! Thanks to all of you contributors that gave me a reason to dust it off and mod the crap out of it!
  22. I have a sofftmodded ver. 1.6 that was modded with an old flash drive I have with s.i.d. 5 on it. It works great and I don't want to format and lose all the movies, music, games etc. however i would like to null the hard drive to future proof it in case this hard drive dies so I can move to a large 2tb drive at that time .Is that possible?
  23. [bought] XBoX V1.0 - V1.1 Board

UPDATE: The seller is sending me a replacement board. No longer required. Got sent a board from an eBay seller that is FRAGGING out of the box. Many loose capacitors and I fear more underlying problems. I need a v1.0 or v1.1 board, as all I have lying around are single ATX power supplies. TSOP flashed preferred, but if not, then EEPROM extracted, if possible. Please PM.
  24. I was bored this evening so I pulled out an Xbox and TSOP'd it with iND-BIOS and installed a new old-stock 500GB IDE Maxtor hard drive. The clock capacitor has been removed, the DVD drive (Samsung) has a new drive belt installed and the case has been cleaned and polished-up, looks great. Currently transferring over XBMC4Gamers as the primary dash and all emulators are outfitted with the ResurrectionXtras video and box art/screen shot packs-- speaking of emulators, this includes the latest build of EWJ's curated Surreal64 romset, and almost every game runs great. The controller is in great condition as well, disassembled and shell cleaned. Asking $90+shipping if anyone is interested. Thanks!
  25. Original XBox 1.4v Red Light

Hello gents This afternoon I received original Xbox 1.4 purchase from eBay. I turned it on. And stayed on for about 30min. Then I when head with Tsop. After that I run this Xbox for few hours. Transfer ninja pack, and enjoyed games for some time. Turn back on after dinner and red light start flashing. Normally I would say over heating, but I'm not sure. Could be eeprom as well, 8 pin chip next to bios. And a suggestion please ? Thanks Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
