  1. Work in games and have every generation of XDK. However the original is one I know very little about. I think I messed with it like a decade ago and got the Neighborhood set-up but don't remember anything beyond that. Does anyone have an idiot-proof guide to getting this thing running retail games? I picked a bunch of JP titles up recently and really want to try them out. Apologies for the stupid questions but it's REALLY hard to find any information these days. The SEO on old Xbox stuff is terrible. Any help would be sincerely appreciated!
  2. Hi guys, just installed an Aladdin XT Plus 2 mod chip on my Xbox to fix an error 16 code. Now it plays Xbox game disks fine so I assume I could go the splinter cell route to get my dash back, however I would much prefer to burn a disk and run hexen/ slayer whatever to fix this. I remember on softmod it did have trouble booting from ISO burned disks but I did have it work a few times. So far tried just about everything, 4x speed, multiple different DVD burners, different types of DVDs, just cant get it to work. probably gone through about 20 disks trying everything, 99% sure I am burning them correctly (just tried this: https://www.ogxbox.com/forums/index.php?/topic/3041-iso-burned-discs-wont-work-on-modded-xbox/&do=findComment&comment=19438 ), unfortunately no luck. I believe I have a 1.4 Xbox with a Phillips drive. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks
  3. I hope this topic is not in the wrong section. So I have driveimageutils installed along with various things that I followed in this reddit post where KaosEngineer had opte4d his help with someone else. Link below: I have my dashloader configured in what I would assume working order. I looked at the dumped log file and appears to be working with the patch for running an xiso. I ftp'd a xiso that I made with quix and put it in my F:\Games folder along with the attach.xbe file renamed to default.xbe. Note that i have the iso and deafult.xbe in their own folder. Now when I load everything up and go to my games folder in the dashboard, it says attach virtual disc or something of that like. So I click on it and it goes to black screen and stays there. Not sure if there is something configured wrong with driveimageutils install or if I have an incompatible bios, though evidence seemed to point that wasn't the case. In any case, I'm pretty stumped and haven't found any threads dealing with the same problem. Though I should mention that I built the xiso from a redump on archive.org, so I am not sure if that is what the problem could be.
  4. I have an NTSC import game that my PAL hard modded Xbox can't play, it just sees it as an 11mb video disc. I was under the impression any Xbox that had been modded should be able to play imports? The disc is in pretty good condition so unless there's something i'm missing i'm confused why it can't be read in my console?
  5. I did a softmod on my original xbox after it was already softmoded. the games before played in color. After the softmode done al ot of games start up in black and white mode . i do use a vga connection and not a RGB. There are games what play in color and some of them just start up from the harddisk in black and whiote that used to be colormode. i play arond with NTSC enigma and i can chage between pal and NTSC but that is not the issue the box start up in pal but when i start up the game from HD it jumps in B/W . not the write display. any help would be nice to solve the problem. thx
  6. Hello! I've recently finished up some testing and fixing of some games and now a bunch of them have "Played 10(+) times". I was wondering if there's any way to reset the play count under the games title in XBMC. I'm assuming I'll have to edit some xml file but where would it be? Thanks
  7. Hey, I have two modded OG XBox, one with Chip, one with TSOP, if i play "EU" Games on the XBox with TSOP they run in german language, If I play them on the XBox with Chip, they run in english (same games). Both XBox are set to "german" in MS-Dashboard, they are both set to NTSC Console with Enigmah-X. Any idea why this is and how I can do the same to my chipped XBox? They use different Bios, the chipped one showes "Xcecuter" at the start, the TSOP showes "openXY" not sure right now but something with "open", and the TSOP one has a blue XBOX Logo at the startup, it's no longer green. (Didn't do the TSOP by myself. Any help would be good!
  8. I would like to remove the play count in XBMC4Gamers. If it's possible, info please.
  9. Hi i'd like to know if there's a way to play virtual cop or house of the dead 1 with my saturn emulator i can't find any way to convert my iso files and even download a.mdf and .mds fils that doesnt work when i make a FTP transfert. I've got a softmodded xbox with unleash
  10. Hey All, I just recently fired up my original Xbox to play some Mercenaries or Ninja Gaiden Black but it appears that the drive will not read the game disks. These disks are near perfect condition and the drive itself will read audio cds. I am at a loss on how to troubleshoot this issue. The Xbox I have is a the Special Edition Halo Green Xbox. I am at this point considering modding this system but I would rather do that to an ebay system instead. I do have the original Splinter Cell with some saved games on it, so if I could get the Xbox to launch that game I could in theory softmod it. But launching the game is a problem. Suggestions? - Thanks. -
  11. So I'm having a bit of a problem and haven't been able to find a solution. The disc drive is able to read discs. It can see that the disc is a game, and I can open up the disc in file manager to view it's contents. But when I try to load the game, it absolutely refuses to load. Tried burned discs on a couple different DVD-R vendors, and even original game discs. It's a phillips disc drive. It could be the drive going bad, but then I wouldn't think it would be able to read the disc as a game and view the contents of it. I guess for some additional information, current have ind-bios 5003 06, UnleashX for the dashboard. Tried cleaning the lens in the drive with alcohol. I'd like to be able to have it read discs in case I do something stupid and can fix it from the console with a disc rather than have to open it up to take the drive out and work on it form the PC. I'm hoping there's some way to fix it without just replacing the drive entirely. I have the tools to work inside the drive if needed.
  12. Says it on the tin. I grabbed an English patched version of this game from archive.org tonight and can't put it down. The intro alone is the best 15 minutes I've played in a game in a long time. Since... Idunno, GoW 2018? This game is so much fun. Granted, it's been rereleased in proper English on modern consoles but it was made to be played on the OG. And feels great on a PS2 controller! Let it speak for itself: These guys are kinda goofy but I can't grab footage off my own consoles. Yet. Has anyone played this? Those of you that haven't are sorely missing out!!!
  13. recently got a debug kit I have been trying to look for ways on how to FTP 2 debug kit. The only media this would read that will allow you to FTP is the dashboard Avalanche. These were made on the Old Source codes that's why it can read it. But you really want the Alpha version it's a special version (Alpha v0.49.1) This is the only Dash or program this debug kit will play. Once it boots up go into file manager using the CD to get there. Copy files from DVD drive into the E partition you can make a folder call it apps and place individually everything on the contents of the CD you made... once that is done you can reboot the system open Avalanche go into FTP settings. You want to change your IP address to whatever you have on flashfxp or Windows .. once you are linked you can pull off any programs that you want to make a copy for yourself. Another thing you can do is download an app called retail game loader V 1.20. This app will allow you to play retail games as well as emulators or anything the original Modded Xbox can play. How you use it is once you FTP to hard drive and is complete reset the system then under xdk launcher click on the newly installed app retail disc loader V 1.20... once that is launched it will look like the exact same Dash except now you can load anything you want. I was giving a lot of help from a lot of different sources in order to make this post to this form. Please if you know any other tricks leave a comment below if not this will work for sure I've tried it myself 100%. Thank you very much for reading have a great Frankie d
