  1. Sweet I got it to boot to MS dash! It makes sense that since I was missing all that shit it wouldn't be able to boot, thanks a lot yall
  2. It looks like my C drive is missing a lot
  3. Xbox Version 1.6 Kernel Version 1.0.5838.1 if that helps?
  4. Yeah I put it right in the root of the C drive. When I had the really outdated softmod on this before using Rocky5's tool I got the same error trying to boot to the OEM, and I thought that doing a fresh softmod would have fixed it. I want to figure out why it's got an error and fix it for knowledge's sake really. I do want to set the console language back to English from there since I can't do that in UnleashX, but that's not really important.
  5. Thanks to SS_Dave I put the OEM dash file on the Xbox to try and boot to there from UnleashX. However when I try to run it I get Error 21. I think it got messed up by whoever soft modded the console before I bought it (it had been sitting in that shop for a few years), but even then I did a clean UnleashX install with Rocky5's tool. I'm pretty confused on what to do. Will I need to put in Halo 2 or something with XBL to update the OEM dash, and then reinstall UnleashX using the Splinter Cell exploit?
  6. If I'm running UnleashX or another custom dash, how can I get the xboxdash.xbe to load the original dash instead of the custom one? I have tried inserting a few different discs upside down to get in that back way, but it doesn't load anything at all, the TRAY indicator on Unleash X dash just changes from OPEN -> CLOSING -> EMPTY
  7. So I have UnleashX, and have noticed that under Xbox Info under the Systems Settings menu, the console language is set to Spanish (even though all the UnleashX menus and everything are in English.) I don't have the default xboxdash.xbe on my console, is there another way to change the language to English? I have noticed that a few backups I have tried to play have text and/or audio in Spanish, but I'm not sure if that's just from the game file itself or from my console settings.
  8. I have one, and it works great for me. I haven't had any graphical issues or artifacting, and haven't needed to use the mini USB to power it either.
  9. Thanks a lot guys, those videos are great Kaos (shoutouts to Rocky5)
  10. So now that I have got my new Dashboard running and have my games ready, it's time to start getting the stuff for the HDD swap. I am going to get a StarTech IDE2SAT2 adapter, but I know that the Xbox can be picky with what SATA drives it will work with. I was thinking of going with a WesternDigital Black or SeaGate. but what are the drives that people have the most success with? Also, in regards to size, are 3.5" drives a pain to fit inside the console? Or would it just save a lot of headache going with a 2.5" drive? Also, I'm a little confused on what steps I need to take to get it all set up once I have the HDD and the adapter. Do I need a boot disk as well? And Chimp clones the existing drive while XBPartitioner will format the new drive? I found this guide at XBMC4Xbox, but its about 7 years old so I am not sure if any of the information is outdated or has changed with new methods: https://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=649&hilit=2tb
  11. FIXED! Buried inside Windows Firewall were more settings I had not turned off, and once I found those it worked! Thanks a lot Kaos I really appreciate the help
  12. I have changed the Xbox's IP to 192.168.0.200, and I am connecting but it keeps timing out trying to get the directory listing. Status: Connecting to 192.168.0.200:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Status: Server does not support non-ASCII characters. Status: Logged in Status: Retrieving directory listing... Command: PWD Response: 257 "/" is current directory Command: TYPE I Response: 200 Type set to IMAGE. Command: PORT 192,168,0,1,16,196 <--- Every time it tries to connect, this number changes Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing
  13. Okay, I will try that as well EDIT: After powering off the Xbox I still am getting pings back, I'll change the IP and try again. Thanks a lot
  14. I've noticed when it gets to Command: PORT it always changes the last few numbers. The first time it said the number listed above, the 2nd time it said Command: PORT 192, 168, 0, 1, 14, 126 before timing out and the 3rd time is said Command: PORT 192, 168, 0, 1, 14, 133 before timing out at least I am connecting for a few moments
  15. So I actually did connect for a short moment, but FileZilla gave me these statuses: Status: Connecting to 192.168.0.2:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Status: Server does not support non-ASCII characters. Status: Logged in Status: Retrieving directory listing... Command: PWD Response: 257 "/" is current directory Command: TYPE I Response: 200 Type set to IMAGE. Command: PASV Response: 502 pasv is not implemented. Command: PORT 192, 168, 0, 1, 14, 46 Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing
  16. Okay, that makes sense now. I will change that and see what happens. Do all the other settings look alright though?
  17. I tried what you have shown me and still get the ECONNREFUSED error. I have PINGed it in CMD and it shows that it is receiving. I have also turned off the firewall. Here are more of my settings since some have changed: XBOX (in EvoX settings) IP 0.0.0.0 (?) Ftp Issues

So I now have my cable to try and connect my Xbox to my PC. I have filezilla set up, I have gone into my adapter settings on my PC and changed the IPV4 settings to: 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.1 My settings in my Xbox are: STATIC 192.168.0.2 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.1 my settings screen does not show me the Port or the Max No. of Users In FileZilla I have typed in Host: 192.168.0.2 --- Username: xbox --- Password: xbox --- Port: 21 When I try to Quickconnect using FileZilla I get a Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server" error. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I have checked a lot of videos on Youtube, and it seems that I have entered everything correctly. Not being able to see the Port or the Max No. of Users doesn't help tho
  19. Thanks, Kaos, my laptop is about 5 or 6 years old, so once I get home from work I will check to see if I can get a standard ethernet cable working
  20. Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it. I heard that the 1.6's had bad clock capacitors, but that's good I don't need to mess with it. Now I just need my crossover cable to hurry the hell up from Amazon so will FileZilla work for FTP to the Xbox? or is there a fancy one specifically for Xbox?
  21. Make yourselves comfy this is kinda a doozy I am totally new to the OGXB modding scene. I recently picked up a Crystal Xbox at a used games store, and the guy there told me that it had been modded and has some emulators. He really doesn't know very much about modding so he couldn't give me a lot of info about what had been done to it, but since it was only $50 I snagged it. He even threw in a free game as well, so I went with the 1st Splinter Cell, (which I knew would come in handy for the Linux exploit if/when I needed to run it) Now that I can dig around in it here's what I DO know: It is a 1.6 XB (kernel 5838) It has EvolutionX 3935 It says the BIOS version is UNKNOWN (not sure if that's just from it having EvolutionX) It is an NTSC model (from Canada I believe? The power supply on the back says 100 V - 127 V ~ 2.1A ... 50/60 HZ) What I DON'T know is: Has it been softmodded or modchipped? (Haven't had time to disassemble it to check, not sure if there is a way to tell without disassembly. However I DID notice that the Linux save file for the SC exploit is already on the console, not sure if that means it has been only been softmodded though) Can I switch from EvolutionX to UnleashX? (just preference, figure it will depend on if it is chipped or only softmodded) AND is there a way to run backups without swapping a HDD? (I do plan to swap it sometime once I have some fun money, the Lock is still Enabled) EDIT: I also don't know about the state of the clock capacitor, being a 1.6 I know I need to check that I also CANNOT go to the MS Xbox Dash from EvolutionX (ERROR 21) RIght now the Xbox works well (although I probably need to replace the rubber band in the disk drive soon because sometimes I have to give it love taps to open) but I really just want to be able to run emulators (which it already does) play backups, and do an HDD swap sooner or later. Since I bought this console already modded in some capacity I just don't know exactly what's been done to it and what I will be able to do since it is a 1.6. Any help is really appreciated
